There are no really good excuses for the lack of updates here. While it feels like I have no time for it, there is so much I want to do creatively, and making some changes to this site will be part of that.

To try and make up for my unintentional hiatus, here is a snippet of what's been going on this past year:
  - grad school
  - new job teaching preschool
  - helped w/ best friend's wedding
  - moved into a house w/ boyfriend
  - had the flu among other bouts of sickness
  - lost a good college friend

Life happens, plain and simple. I've been using Instagram whenever possible to at least capture the beauty in my everyday life. For now, I will keep swimming and remind myself to breathe.

If my boyfriend and I were super secret spies...

I'm sure it would look a lot like Archer.

Also I am a nerd.

I will document these better, but I couldn't wait to share them. My final critique went well, and our guest critic, local artist Anne Austin Pearce, said my work (especially the first two shown here) was bleeping awesome. That felt really good, and I'm so glad all of my hard work has and continues to pay off. And I must say, while I was nervous to get back into drawing after focusing so much on video and photography since 2006, I couldn't be any happier now.

like the flickering grain of some great movie
